October 18, 2020 - Gherkinfest

We had to cancel Picklefest 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but managed a small outdoor tournament, Gherkinfest, instead.  In spite of short notice and a last-minute change of date to avoid rain, we had an excellent turnout and good play.

Round Robin Mixed Doubles

 

16 players, plenty of food (thank you Lynn for the banana bread), a one-armed whistle blower (proving that even after shoulder surgery you can participate), 10 rounds PLUS the medal matches, and everyone survived!  Congratulations to our medalists:

Spring Scramble

Landing YMCA, Brunswick

16 players, half from previous scrambles, enjoyed about 3 hours of scramble pickleball.  Competition was very tight, with the top scores crowded like a golf leaderboard, and until the end of the last round, we didn't know who the winners would be.  Click below to see for yourself!

St Patrick's Day Scramble

16 players met, many for the first time, and participated in a lively morning pickleball scramble.  This was our second, and clearly, based on enthusiasm, good sportsmanship, and delicious scones provided by Aaron Park, not our last.
